Happy Holidays – A Day in the Life!

To our friends and family,

We the board members of The Clint Seymour Play Ball Fund would like to extend to you our warmest wishes for this festive season. Merry Christmas, and happy holidays!

As we are experiencing a high of 68 degrees in the northeast, we are tempted to say “Let’s play some baseball!”, but we know that this is a time to be spent with our loved ones, giving extra hugs, and participating in the joys of the season. This time of year marks a time for the joy of family and friends, but also a time of reflection and looking forward. We accomplished many firsts this year that could not have been achieved without the generous donations of both financing and participation from the many individuals who have helped buoy our cause. Among these achievements include our talent-focused initial camp in Charleston, our corporate partnerships with both the Charleston Riverdogs and Pittsburgh Pirates via Big Brothers Big Sisters, our inaugural scholarship awards, the dedication of a memorial at Stephen C. Foster Elementary School, and our 1st Neil Walker Joy of the Game Baseball Camp and Joy of the Game Baseball Tournament.  2016 will no doubt hold new memorial dedications, honors for promising young athletes, and contributions to the positive morale and baseball careers of many exciting area youths.  We will enter the year rejuvenated and driven.

Speaking of rejuvenated and driven heading into 2016, it is no secret that our own Neil Walker will be visiting a different part of Florida this spring (St. Lucie) and a different part of the MLB this summer (Citi Field).  We wish him the best of luck, but will certainly miss him in the Burgh.  Our Christmas gift to all of you is our first share of the 2015 ROOT Sports “Day in the Life” documentary, featuring Neil’s contributions to our Joy of the Game baseball camp.  Is it “A Christmas Story”?  No, but it’s heartwarming all the same, and we hope it will be a good watch for you and your family this week.

Thanks and love, The Clint Seymour Play Ball Fund
